Is there a waiting period before benefits begin?

Waiting periods vary depending on membership type and service category: Group cover: No waiting period Individual cover: 14 days for administration and correspondence 4 months for specialist visits, medication, lab tests, X-rays, scans, ambulance services 6 months for hospital admissions (no waiver) 9 months for maternity services (waiver applies if 5 months subscriptions are paid) There is no waiver for known pre-existing surgical conditions.

How do I make payments?

Payments are made monthly or termly for students, covering four months including holiday breaks. This makes the fund affordable and predictable for schools and institutions..

Yes. AHMF offers full medical cover for schoolchildren, including consultations, emergencies, investigations, and hospitalization.

What does “no shortfalls” mean?

“No shortfalls” means that for all benefits covered under your package, you will not be asked to pay additional money (top-ups, co-payments, or shortfalls) at the point of service.
